Housing is Healthcare Build

Tuesday, May 7 – Saturday, May 25

Join us for a transformative three-week Habitat Build that merges the power of healthcare stakeholders in our community with the mission of Habitat for Humanity Lake County to address a critical social determinant of health: housing.

About the Event

Habitat for Humanity Lake County proudly presents the “Housing is Healthcare Build,” a collaborative effort aimed at highlighting the indispensable link between housing and health.

Why Housing Matters:

Research consistently shows that stable, safe housing is fundamental to individual and community health. Yet far too many individuals and families lack access to affordable housing, leading to a myriad of health challenges. From increased susceptibility to illnesses to heightened stress levels, the absence of adequate housing perpetuates cycles of poor health outcomes.

By recognizing housing as a vital social determinant of health, we affirm our commitment to holistic well-being and equitable access to essential resources. Together, we can break down barriers and build a healthier, more resilient community for all.

How You Can Get Involved:

  • Volunteer: Roll up your sleeves and join us on-site to contribute your time, skills, and passion to the construction of a new home. No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to make a difference. Email [email protected] to inquire about a date!
  • Donate: Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us provide the materials and resources needed to build a safe, affordable home. Your generosity paves the way for brighter futures and healthier lives.
  • Spread the Word: Share our message far and wide. Together, we can raise awareness about the critical intersection of housing and health and inspire others to join our cause.
